We really loved this place. Location is in the quiet end of Puerto Escondido and within walking distance of great beaches and places to eat. The rooms were lovely and clean. The shared space was perfect with an outdoor patio in the shade with an outdoor kitchen and BBQ. The pool was also a lovely addition and so nice to swim in during the midday heat. Tony and the team were lovely and super helpful. The use of WhatsApp was so handy before our stay to coordinate as well as any questions we had during our time. Everything is excellent! Tony is very friendly and easy-going, and the breakfasts he makes are very creative 🙂 César is an excellent concierge, I arrived in the late afternoon and I asked about some tours for the next day and they helped me schedule them without any problem and even gave me a recommendation for where to have dinner when I wasn’t expecting it! I had truly an amazing experience at Zandoyo. The location is excellent, within walking distance of Carrizalillo, Bacocho, and Coral beaches as well as the Rinconada, a strip with great restaurants and an easy place to hail a cab. Tony and his team cook a DELICIOUS breakfast every weekday morning that far exceeded my expectations. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and have AC. I stayed in the “Tiny” room, which is perfect for one person. I felt very comfortable and safe the entire time as a solo female traveler. If you ever travel to Puerto Escondido this really is hands down the best place to stay. From the homestay feel to the way Tony, Mane and César go out of their way to accommodate you, to the exceptional breakfasts, everything is just done with so much love and joy. The rooms are clean and well equipped, the pool is very nice, there’s drinking water freely available and a fully equipped outdoor kitchen if you wish to cook for yourself. The area is nice with good restaurant choices but little gentrified night life (which was a plus for me). Just book here. You won’t regret it. Great professionals with a lot of love and dedication. They make you feel at home, they have everything to make the stay very pleasant. Breakfast is fantastic. From sopes and molletes to burritos and enfrijoladas, our breakfasts are fully prepared in our own kitchen with the freshest ingredients, sourced locally whenever possible.
The best breakfast in Puerto Escondido (according to our guests!) is accompanied by fresh-squeezed orange juice, a bowl of fresh fruit and yogurt and coffee or tea.
Huevos rancheros with ham
Farm fresh fried eggs on a bed of corn tortillas and tomato sauce with ham, avocado and red peppers. Served with panfried potatoes.
Sopes and jicama-carrot salad
Homemade sopes with three different toppings: roast chicken, our own chorizo and poblano peppers. Served with refried beans and fresh cheese.
Scrambled eggs and bacon
Farm fresh scrambled eggs with bacon and tomatoes, served with avocado on toasted artisanal bread and a jicama-cucumber salad.
