Room amenities
Air conditioning/Ceiling fan
All the rooms at Zandoyo Bed & Breakfast in Puerto Escondido have minisplit air conditioning units and ceiling fans. The need for a/c is less critical in the winter months and for many guests the fan is sufficient. But May in particular can be hot. Many people find it difficult to sleep with the a/c on. We recommend turning it on for four or five hours before going to bed to bring the room temperature down.
Private bathrooms
Every room is equipped with a full bathroom: walk-in shower, sink and toilet, and solar-heated hot water. Our solar energy system produces very hot water but being situated on the second-story roof it can take a few minutes to arrive in your shower.
Housekeeping service
Full housekeeping service is provided twice a week to change bedding and towels, wash floors and bathroom and remove garbage.
Internet
Our Starlink satellite internet connection provides download speeds of 150 Mbps and higher (upload speeds are about 15-20 Mbps). It has rarely failed us but we have a fibreoptic system as backup, though with significantly lower speeds. On the other hand, they are an improvement over regular ADSL and cellular services in Puerto Escondido. Wi-Fi service is strong throughout most of the property.
Shared outdoor kitchen
The fully-equipped kitchen is located in a covered area adjacent to the pool terrace. It has a gas cooktop stove, a refrigerator big enough to store food for all our guest rooms, several appliances and dishes and cooking utensils. There is also a Weber gas grill.
Laundry
Next-day laundry service is provided for a fee.
USB chargers
Most rooms have combination USB chargers and surge protected electrical outlets, a must during the rainy season when electrical storms are common.
Complimentary breakfast
Guests are served a full breakfast Monday through Friday in the dining room. Our menu changes daily and features variations on Mexican dishes. (See our gallery of breakfast dishes here.) Fresh orange juice, a fruit bowl and coffee or tea are included. We can accommodate dietary restrictions; just let us know. Breakfast is served at 9 a.m. but we can adjust the schedule for guests taking the early-morning marine tour or those with work-related appointments. However, breakfast at a traditional B&B can be a special event, an opportunity to meet other travelers from around the world and enjoy sometimes lively and fun conversation. Zandoyo Bed & Breakfast in Puerto Escondido is no different. You might want to reschedule that video call!
