Say goodbye to rainy season and hello to new kitchen, new guest rooms

November 27, 2023

As the rainy season comes to an end we are now enjoying a welcome change in the weather.

December is one of the nicest months here: the average temperature and humidity are down and there is generally little rain, yet everything is still very green, including our neighborhood park which is looking better than it has in years.

Our new outdoor kitchen and sitting area are getting a lot of use from guests! Although we continue to offer our popular breakfast Monday through Friday, guests are finding the shared kitchen ideal for meals and snacks when they don’t want to go out. And the adjacent sitting area is like an outdoor living room and has a nice view of the pool.

We have also implemented a system to sort plastics, metals, glass and paper for recycling with specially marked containers in the terraza area. Other new features are the Honor Bar, where guests can choose from a selection of red and white wines and mezcal and serve themselves, and a car rental service. We have teamed up with friends who have a 2019 Nissan March for rent for 900 pesos per day, or 5,500 pesos per week, insurance included. They will meet you at the airport if you wish.

We now have four rooms available (and a fifth coming soon) with the reopening of Room 4 “Barbara” on the second floor (pictured at top) and the addition of the Tiny Room on the ground floor. “Barbara” is a well-lit room with an expansive view of the park in front of Zandoyo and has a queen bed, private bathroom, a/c and ceiling fan.

The Tiny Room, meanwhile, is not spacious but it’s great for one person. The room has a single bed, private bath, a/c and ceiling fan. At 110 square feet (10 square meters) it’s about half the size of our other rooms.

What our guests are saying

Some recent comments by guests on our Airbnb page:

I loved staying with Tony and Mane, they are wonderful, very friendly and pleasant. The bedroom is very clean . . . the bed is very comfortable. The shared space is very beautiful, I loved the decorations and pool. And the breakfasts were really delicious, very rich (: I definitely recommend Zandoyo, the best option if you want a relaxing vacation. —Paola, Mexico City

We loved our stay at Tony and Mane’s. The house is large, clean and beautiful and just a short walk from amazing beaches and restaurants. Perhaps best of all were Tony’s delicious breakfasts to get the day started. We couldn’t recommend this location better for your stay at Puerto Escondido! —Miriam, San Antonio, Texas

This was our second stay at Tony & Mane’s and we loved the new kitchen! It was nice to warm up any leftovers we had or make some simple things and not have to worry about being in anyone’s way! And this kitchen is fully equipped! From smoothie maker & toaster oven (which came in really handy) to a full stove top, sink and fridge! It was a nice added feature. We also enjoyed Tony’s breakfasts. One of the many reasons we choose to come back! Amanda, Two Rivers, Wisconsin

What our guests are saying

An excellent place, with exceptional attention. From the moment they welcomed us they were extremely attentive to everything. The breakfasts are exquisite. It is in a very quiet area without any noise, with very good restaurants nearby. If what you are looking for is to disconnect and rest, it is the best option.
